Puppy bravely escapes over fence in adorable video: ‘So smart’

The pup showed impressive problem-solving skills after deftly escaping from the pen.
In a video posted to TikTok by its owner, a young dog named Tilly can be seen making a daring escape. It can be deduced that the entrance to the fence is zippered, and Tilly can be seen scratching and poking her nose in the direction of the closed entrance.
And indeed, the zipper began to move, giving the pup enough room to slide its head and the rest of its body through it. The video documenting her efforts has been viewed over 2 million times on social media and can be viewed here.
While Tilly probably spent a lot of time at the kennel, the puppy’s antics almost literally swayed her owner.
Dog petting can actually improve memory and problem-solving skills, according to a 2022 study from the University of Basel in Switzerland published in the journal PLOS ONE.
Using infrared neuroimaging, the researchers measured the activity in the prefrontal cortex of 19 men and women when they looked at, stroked or lay down with a dog between their legs. The test was repeated with a plush toy held by a water bottle to match the temperature, weight, and feel of the dog.
They found that interaction with real dogs led to increased levels of activity in the prefrontal cortex, and this effect persisted even after the dogs were removed. The frontal cortex is involved in problem solving, attention and working memory, and social and emotional processing.
But now owner Tilly seems to be overwhelmed by her puppy’s ability to find his way out of the arena.
In the video, Tilly can even be heard exclaiming “Oh my god” as she breaks free of her restraints. She wasn’t the only one to express admiration for the video, other dog lovers also praised the puppy’s Houdini-style exploits in the comments section.
A user named _krista.queen_ said, “Dogs always find a way to escape,” while monkey_girl commented, “She needs to be promoted to the genius class.” “I keep saying these animals are getting too smart.”
Elsewhere, gopikalikagypsyrexx was impressed, stating, “Nothing will stop her,” adding Fedora Guy, “That’s why you don’t buy a zipper, only a cage.” , writing, “Nobody keeps Tilly in the corner!”
